There are thousands of car shows happening across North America each year. If most events are organized for the locals, a few cars show became so massive they attracted car manufacturers and collectors worldwide.

The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is one of the most prestigious classic car events in this part of the sphere. Although it isn’t among the most significant car shows, the Amelia Island Concours d’Elengance displays some of the best examples of vehicles you will see in your life. Also, there is a Concours D’Lemons category which, like the name, is dedicated to lemons of the industry. This might seem hilarious, but the organization takes it very seriously.

The Special Transporter Class

As you can imagine, there are many different classes, but one of the most interesting and prestigious ones in the Special Transport Class. The winner for this class at the 28th annual Amelia Concours d’Elengance was the 1951 Volkswagen Deluxe 15-Window. In total, there were more than 25,000 visitors to the event, and I am not even talking about the reach winners get aftermath because all major car media in the world talks about it.

The winning 1951 Volkswagen Deluxe 15-Window is owned by Joe Mond, and it is powered by a 25-horsepower engine. This isn’t much, especially by today's standards.

The Volkswagen Bus, also known as the Type 2, Transporter, Kombi or Microbus, Bus, or Camper, has become one of the most iconic vehicles since the 1960s, and it is one of the only vehicles that did so without being outrageously fast or crazy looking. The original Bus has been produced since 1949. However, the 6th generation that came out in 2015 has nothing that reminds us of the good old buses from the 50s and 60s.

Seeing a popularity increase for the old-fashioned Bus, Volkswagen seized the opportunity to bring it back to the market as an electric vehicle called the ID. Buzz. This was one of the best calls from the German manufacturer since the Volkswagen ID. Buzz has attracted a lot of potential buyers since the announcement of its official launch, with the superb 1951 Volkswagen Deluxe 15-Window that has won the Special Transporter Class awards at the Amelia Concours d’Elegance and the arrival of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz on the market, the VW buses have never been so popular, according to Volkswagen, the ID. Buzz is supposed to arrive on our market in 2024, and we hope the German manufacturer will offer several variants of it.
