Land Rover Defender

The 2023 Land Rover Defender is a vehicle. It is the most capable luxurious vehicle. From desert to Arctic tundra and mountain climbing, the British SUV can face pretty much any situation and terrain without fear.

What makes the 2023 Land Rover Defender even more interesting is that it is the only vehicle available in three different body styles. You can choose between a 2- or 4-door configuration, and there is even an extended Defender for those who need to pack up as much equipment as possible.

The 2023 Land Rover Defender is nothing like every other consumer vehicle, so I decided to present 7 surprising facts about it.

1 – Almost a submarine

Although called a « Land » Rover, the Defender can drive through 88.9 centimeters or 35.4 inches of water. To put things into perspective, the 2023 Ford GT is 43.7 inches tall. Few manufacturers are willing to give their vehicles the actual wading depth capacity because I can guarantee somebody will try.

2 – From $69,000 to $140,000

The 2023 Land Rover Defender is available in 14 different versions, and therefore there is a considerable price gap between the most basic and the top-of-the-line configuration. With a starting price of $69,000, the British SUV can be interesting for anybody. However, if you want more, you will need deeper pockets as prices rapidly increase.

3 – A crazy angle master

Where most vehicle struggle to go over a simple speed bump, the 2023 Land Rover Defender has a minimum approach angle of 30.1 degrees which means it can climb pretty much anything that can physically be climbed.

4 – A supercharged V8

The British SUV is one of the few vehicles you can get with a supercharged V8. Here, we are talking about a 5.0-liter V8 with a total power of 518 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque.

5 – City driving is fantastic!

With such an aggressive off-road look and everything that comes with it, you would think the 2023 Land Rover Defender is lovely to drive outside the road, but it isn’t the case. The British SUV is amazingly good at driving on the road. Its driving experience is sophisticated and pleasant.

6 – A front jump seat

Yes, you heard me right; the Land Rover Defender is one of the only vehicles currently available on the market that can sit a 3rd person on the front row. You can equip a front jump seat instead of a center console.

7 – Terrain Response 2

What makes the 2023 Land Rover Defender one of the best-off readers on the earth's surface is its Terrain Response 2 system. This system offers several driving modes that each have a massive individual impact on the way the Defender behaves.
