There are vehicles whose existence boils down to pleasing or fulfilling desires. This is notably the case with the BMW X6. It is based on the same platform as the BMW X5, except that the latter offers more diversity in its range and a more generous cargo space. So, why do so many people still choose the X6 today? That's a rather difficult question to answer, but it proves that one does not necessarily choose a vehicle purely based on logic or because its technical specifications are better. In my opinion, emotion is the element that weighs the most in the balance almost every time. Thus, you will not be surprised to learn that the BMW X6 2024 is almost entirely dedicated to emotion, whether it be about its design, mechanics, or technologies.

As it is popular and highly appreciated, the BMW X6 is one of those models that benefit from constant improvements. For 2024, the SUV from the Bavarian manufacturer has received some novelties in terms of aesthetics. Its multimedia system has also been revised.

Range and Prices

The BMW X6 2024 is a vehicle that is bought for pleasure above all. Thus, you will understand that it is not cheap. Its base price is $95,735, and that's before any options. If you opt for the M60i version, the bill rises to $114,082. Finally, they ask for $145,000 for its ultimate M Competition version. The SUV from the Bavarian manufacturer offers numerous optional features. It is quite easy to increase the bill by several tens of thousands of dollars, regardless of the version you choose.

Category and Competition

The BMW X6 belongs to the category of luxury intermediate SUVs and is a model that stands out thanks to its sports coupe look. The competition is particularly fierce in the segment, but the SUV from the Bavarian manufacturer has solid arguments in its favor, especially in terms of mechanics.

Rivals: Acura MDX, Audi Q7, Audi Q8, Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT6, Genesis GV80, Infiniti QX60, JLR Discovery, JLR Range Rover Sport, Lexus GX, Lexus RX, Lexus TX, Lincoln Aviator, Maserati Levante, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Porsche Cayenne, Tesla Model X, Volvo XC90

Design and Technologies

The BMW X6 was one of the first SUVs to adopt the sports coupe formula, and it is thanks to the latter that this subcategory of vehicle is so popular today. Despite everything, I believe that the X6 is the one that carries this design the best. It has a more sleek and aggressive look than ever. Let's say it's a vehicle that never fails to turn heads as it passes by. The X6 M Competition version offers a nice range of colors, but I find that there is a lack of options for the other versions in this regard.

I hesitate to say that I like the interior of the Bavarian manufacturer's SUV. The finish is impeccable, and the design of the dashboard is successful. However, the X6 2024 features a dashboard and a multimedia system combined into a single flat screen. It looks very generic, and that's what bothers me. Fortunately, the SUV makes up for it in all other aspects. The steering wheel offers an interesting grip, and the attention to detail is impressive.

The Bavarian manufacturer has done an excellent job in terms of technology. The driving aids are particularly effective and balanced. The infotainment system is also simpler and more enjoyable to use.

Performance

The BMW X6 2024 offers three options in terms of mechanics, starting with a 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine. This is accompanied by mild hybrid technology. In the end, we get a total power of 375 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. Next is the M60i version, which benefits from a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, also equipped with a form of mild hybridization. Here, the power rises to 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. As if that weren't enough, there is the M Competition version, which essentially uses the same mechanics with a total power of 617 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. This allows the SUV from the Bavarian manufacturer to complete the 0-100 sprint in less than 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 285 km/h. Thus, as you can see, performance is at the forefront in all versions of the X6.

Weak Points

The bill rises quickly. Its road behavior is very sporty and can be annoying at times.

Strong Points

It's a vehicle that never fails to turn heads as it passes by. It offers a lot of choices in terms of options. The level of finish is impressive, not to mention the performance.

Signature Element

The BMW X6 was once a unique vehicle in its kind. Even though this is no longer the case today, it remains a source of inspiration for all others.

Final Word

The BMW X6 2024 is the kind of vehicle you get for pleasure. So, even though it is expensive, do not skimp on options and choose everything you want.
