Cadillac Escalade 2024

When one thinks of North America and the automotive industry, the first image that comes to mind is that of a large luxury SUV, namely the Cadillac Escalade. It's a model that epitomizes the American dream in its purest form, which is why the model remains so popular today.

Cadillac hasn't made major improvements to its SUV for 2024, and that's perfectly fine since the model still stands as one of the most competitive in the market. I wouldn't go as far as to say the model is perfect, as there are still a few minor things one could nitpick, but it's fair to say that few Escalade owners complain about their purchase.

Range and Pricing

As you probably suspect, the Cadillac Escalade isn't a model for those on a tight budget. Its starting price is $115,639 for the regular version and $119,839 for the ESV version. Indeed, between you and me, this isn't the type of vehicle you want to skimp on. In fact, quite the opposite, if you're considering a Cadillac Escalade over one of its mainstream cousins, such as the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, and GMC Yukon, it's because you want to indulge yourself.

The American manufacturer's SUV lineup is divided into 6 different versions. If we stick to the regular model, the Luxury and Premium Luxury versions start at $115,874 and $137,474, respectively. Then there's the Sport version, which eliminates all chrome accents. The starting price for this one is $137,240. Next up is the Premium Luxury Platinum version, where the price jumps to $160,040. If you prefer a darker look but don't want to compromise, there's always the Platinum port version at $160,040. Finally, there's the V version at the top of the range. This one starts at $220,640, which may seem ridiculous for a Cadillac Escalade, but I can assure you that every dollar spent here will bring you no regrets.

Category and Competition

Considering its size, I'm surprised that the SAAQ (Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec) doesn't require a commercial driver's license to operate a vehicle like the Cadillac Escalade. The American manufacturer's SUV is one of the largest on the market and also a luxury model. In short, it's the kind of vehicle that loves to indulge in excess, and that's precisely why it's so appreciated. The list of its competitors isn't very long, but rest assured that the Cadillac Escalade stands at the top with a considerable lead.

Rivals: Lincoln Navigator, BMW X7, Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Infiniti QX80, Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Design and Technologies

The Cadillac Escalade is an imposing and luxurious model. It only takes one glance to know that we're dealing with the kings of large SUVs. The designers have done an excellent job to make the Escalade's design more elegant than ever, with sleek and slender elements. To be honest, the only thing the American manufacturer could have done more with its large SUV is to add a more flamboyant color palette like the one found in the CT5 range, especially in the V version.

I must admit that I still struggle to get used to next-generation interiors. The dashboard screen of the Escalade is superb, but I would have liked something a bit more square and muscular. Nevertheless, this is just a personal critique because the interior of the model remains very elegant, and the finishing is impeccable.

The Cadillac Escalade 2024 offers everything one could dream of in terms of technology. In fact, it was one of the first models in the GM family to benefit from the legendary Super Cruise, one of the most advanced autonomous driving systems on the market.

Performance

The Cadillac Escalade 2024 offers three options in terms of mechanics, starting with the classic 6.2-liter V8 engine. This engine delivers 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which is already impressive. What makes the American manufacturer's SUV even more interesting is that it offers a diesel option. This is a turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that develops 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This option is ideal for those who do a lot of driving and use their Escalade as a second office. I know the goal isn't to save money when buying a vehicle like the Escalade, but it's the kind of thing that can make all the difference for an entrepreneur at the end of a year. Finally, if what interests you is pure performance, that's also something you'll find with the American giant. In its V version, the Cadillac Escalade 2024 is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter engine that delivers 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, simply ridiculous figures. Thanks to this engine, the American manufacturer's SUV is capable of doing 0-100 in just 4.6 seconds, which is very fast for a model of this stature.

Weaknesses

The price quickly escalates from one version to another. The average consumption of both V8s is ridiculous. It's quite a heavy vehicle, and that's something you feel in its driving.

Strengths

You'll hardly find a vehicle as comfortable and versatile in this category. The Cadillac Escalade is among the most reliable and durable luxury models on the market. It's a vehicle that lacks nothing in terms of equipment. Its finishing quality is impressive. The ambient lighting is absolutely superb.

Signature Element

The Cadillac Escalade itself is a signature element since it's one of the most popular and appreciated luxury SUVs in its segment. I regularly hear people telling me that they dream of owning this model and that it's definitely the vehicle they would buy if they won the lottery.

Closing Thoughts

The Cadillac Escalade has long been considered either the vehicle of big stars or high-ranking underworld figures. The image of the model has changed a lot over the years, and it's now a vehicle appreciated by all. Certainly, it's still a very prestigious vehicle, but it seems more accessible than ever. Finally, you'll understand that it's also more expensive than it has ever been, but the Escalade remains a reasonably affordable vehicle compared to some luxury models. In my opinion, it's the vehicle of this kind that offers you the most value for your money.
