Mazda CX-9 2022

It is not often that a regular model feels like it should belong in a prestigious brand, but it is the case with the 2022 CX-9. The only problem is the Japanese manufacturer don’t have any luxury brands like Honda with Acura or Toyota with Lexus. So, the CX-9 is kind of stuck with Mazda, which is a good thing for the customer that is getting a lot more for their money this way.

The CX-9 has been out for quite some time now, but its popularity hasn’t stopped growing yet, which proves how good it is. I mean, it is relatively affordable, it is equipped with full of tech, it is comfortable, and it has a lot of power under the hood.

A prestigious feel

You can tell the CX-9 is a higher-hand vehicle from the very first look. Its sleek design, paired with its mean-looking front facia, give us the impression it’s been evolving in a luxury car lineup for several years. The CX-9 is imposing; still, he’s a refined SUV.

The CX-9 cabin is spacious, and the design is well-balanced. You truly feel like you were in a prestigious vehicle. I really like the driving position and the steering wheel itself, which feel comfortable and confident feel by itself. As I mentioned earlier, the current generation CX-9 is quite old after being out for 6 years now, but it still feels young and modern.

The driving experiences

Up to this point, everything I said about the CX-9 makes it an above-average vehicle, and it is even more obvious when you start driving it. The Japanese SUV is powered by a 2.5 liters turbocharged 4 cylinders that produce 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, which lead to a pretty dynamic driving experience. This motor is combined with an automatic 6-speeds transmission and a four-wheel-drive as standard. Mazda announces an average fuel consumption of 11.6L/100km in town and 9.0L/100km on the highway for the CX-9, which is pretty good for a vehicle this size.

More affordable than you think

Of course, with greatness comes a great price, right? Well, that is not the case with the 2022 CX-9, which has a base price of $41,300. Of course, if you want more equipment, you’re going to have to pay more. The Japanese SUV offers 4 other versions with a price that ranges from $45,050 to $53,200. Even at the top-level trim, the CX-9 still is a fairly affordable vehicle. And for $53,200, the Signature version gives you as much as any $80,000 luxury SUV from the same category, trust me.

I think you should start to understand why the CX-9 popularity hasn’t stopped increasing since the very beginning by now. The only thing left to do is to go try it out yourself.
