Mazda has been playing its own game for the best part of the last decade just by the simple concept of improvement where others tried more to cover up mistakes. What I mean by that is Mazda almost perfected the automobile in its most basic form. The Japanese manufacturer invests a lot into research and development to get the best driving experience, the most efficient of any engine, and to simplify technology as much as possible for an overall experience that anybody could really enjoy. To be honest, the Japanese manufacturer is convinced on pretty much any level.

Now that Mazda had mastered the automobile basics, the Japanese manufacturer started to experiment with new stuff and add a lot of fun ingredients to its new vehicles. The latest and greatest creation of Mazda is the CX-50, a car that is on the verge of perfection, and I really mean it.

The Japanese SUV is good-looking and quite luxurious on the inside. It is full of clever technologies as well. The CX-50 gave me an excellent first impression, and I am sure it will be the same for you.

Ready for the Adventure

Just by looking at it for a few seconds, you can easily guess the CX-50 has good off-road capabilities. The Japanese SUV benefits from a perfect all-wheel-drive system as standard. Mazda worked a lot on the suspension and the direction of the model to make it even funnier to drive than every Mazda model made before it. It is a good thing simply because most SUV in its category is boring to drive.

A good part of why the 2023 Mazda CX-50 is so fun to drive is the engine you find under the hood. There are two, by the way. The base engine is a 2.5 liters 4 cylinders that make 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. This is more than enough to enjoy a vehicle like the CX-50. However, if you want to have more fun behind the wheel of the Japanese SUV, there is a turbocharged 2.5 liters 4 cylinders that produce 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Trust me, driving with this motor is a lot of fun. This last engine also is the reason why the CX-50 offers a towing capacity of 3 500 pounds which is quite good for the category. The best part is you will get average fuel consumption of 10.4L/100km in town and 8.1L/100km on the highway with the most potent version. This is impressive.

Two version

There are only two variations of the CX-50, right, but again, this is more than enough. The GS-L version is set as the entry-level model with a base price of $39,965. This might seem like a lot, but you get a lot of equipment too. The GT version starts at $44,515 with the regular engine and $47,015 with the turbocharged engine. Also, don’t forget that you have a 3 years/unlimited mileage base warranty and 5 years/unlimited mileage powertrain warranty, which is one of the best in the industry.
