Which Land Rover is the fastest in a straight line?

Do numbers matter? Even if you say no, the answer is yes, especially in the automobile industry. Of course, there are many elements to consider when purchasing a new vehicle, such as design, technologies, safety features, and comfort. However, numbers are what set cars apart from others. In some cases, it might be the prices or the fuel efficiency. Cargo space and towing capacity are two fundamental characteristics too. Ironically, the least essential numbers matter the most for buys. I am talking about speed and power if you still need to guess by now. 

 

I am not saying speed and power figures are irrelevant because they help to compare vehicles. These numbers are incorrectly used most of the time, and they are useless in most real-life situations. Maximum power is usually measured at RPMs you're less likely to reach with your vehicle. As for speed, reaching the limit means you might end up in jail for the top speed and the 0 to 200 km/h we love so much to know is only helpful if you need to go from a complete stop to highway speed as fast as possible.

 

Of course, speed and power figures are more important for some manufacturers than others, as is the case for Land Rover. According to the manufacturer, the easier it is to find those numbers, the more relevant they are. For Land Rover, speed and power are what you see at the top of every model description. In fact, you can even sort the trim levels by 0 to 100 km/h times. This shows how important it is for the manufacturer.

 

Today, we are focusing on speed. However, we will not talk about top speed since most Land Rover models are electronically limited at this level for apparent reasons. However, when it comes to acceleration, there are no limits, and some models are pretty fast.
