Here's the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR

Shelby GT500 KR 2022

What is the latest meanest maddest Ford Mustang how there lately? Most people would say the Shelby GT500, and they are not wrong. However, Shelby factories came with something even better itself, which is the Shelby GT500 KR. in case you are wondering, KR stands for the king of the road, and that is why they went all the way with this new alteration of the American muscle car. And just in case you are a bit confused here, the GT500 KR is not offered by Ford directly like the GT500, perhaps. The GT500KR is produced by Shelby American. Well, technically, you must buy a donor car before sending it to Shelby American so it could be transformed into a GT500 KR.

What makes things different here is the fact that the based vehicle is, in fact, a GT500 and not only a GT Mustang, which is loaded with Shelby American witchcraft. Now that you know that, I think you see me coming. You have to buy the base car, which is very expensive. We're talking about $73,000 US. And on top of that, you have to have $55,000 for the KR. this means that this very special Mustang would cost more than $200,000 Canadian. That's a lot of money, even for a Mustang that special. I'm not saying it's not worth it because this car will probably maintain its value and even gain some value in the future. It's just that for the same money you can buy an exotic car. At the end of the day, it's your choice if you really are a fan of Shelby products, and I'm Rick and Moss are in general; this is a car you should get and nothing else.

Performance, Performance, and Performance

Let's talk about numbers because those that are related to the GT500 KR are very impressive. The Shelby American specials are using the same 5.2 liter V8 you find in the regular GT500. However, there's a new 3.8-liter supercharger under the hood which is good to bring the car up to 900 horsepower. That's not the only thing since Shelby has to put a new intercooler for the supercharger and a new heat exchanger in order to keep all that extra power cool. The exhaust system has been replaced with a full-bore cat-back exhaust, and Shelby even changed the driveshaft. Of course, the American manufacturer changed the suspension as well for a fully adjustable right front and rear spring and put new sway bars as well for the front and back. The GT500 keeps its MagneRide suspension, but it has been re-calibrated. At the front, we have 20x11 wheels and 20x11.5 for the rear.

Shelby American also put new body panels on the car, such as in your carbon fiber wing carbon-fiber splitter and carbon fiber rear diffuser. There are a lot of little things like 60th anniversary badging, leather seat recovery, and a new hood strut system. Nevertheless, the thing that really matters here is the CSM numbered engine and dash plate that you find on the car, which proves that it's a legitimate Shelby product.

Shelby American hasn't mentioned yet how many of these Shelby GT500 KR they're going to build for every production year, but we know for sure it's going to be a very limited run. This means that if you're able to put your end on one of these, our advice is just going for it. Also, there will be plenty of color stripes and small little options to choose from, which you don't have with the regular GT500, which makes this car even more special when you think about it.
