Genesis Sells Its Millionth Car

After the success of the Genesis sedan and the Genesis Coupe, Hyundai decided that Genesis should become a full-fledged luxury brand, and that\'s exactly what happened in 2015. To be honest with you, I didn\'t believe it at all back then. After all, how could a brand like Hyundai join such a prestigious and exclusive world as the luxury car market? Yet, the Korean manufacturer took the challenge.
In fact, Genesis managed in just a few years what it took Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, and other major brands several decades to achieve. The brand built a strong reputation and now offers top-quality products.
The adventure for Genesis as a standalone luxury brand began on November 4, 2015. Needless to say, the beginnings were not easy, but the introduction of new models and the excellent marketing work by the brand allowed Genesis to rise. Today, less than 8 years later, Genesis has already sold over a million vehicles, a significant milestone for a luxury brand.
A Fast Forward
Things are going well for the Korean brand, which offers no less than eight different models. Some are electric, and others are gasoline-powered, but all Genesis models are certainly very luxurious and affordable despite their high-quality finish.
We don\'t know the official date when this happened, but we do know that the brand\'s millionth vehicle was sold in August 2023 after Genesis announced having sold 1,008,804 vehicles by the end of August since its creation in 2015. Of this number, 690,177 units were sold in Korea alone, while an additional 318,627 units were sold elsewhere in the world.
Genesis sales have significantly increased in recent years, as the brand had only sold 500,000 vehicles between 2015 and 2021. It took the manufacturer only 2 years and three months to sell another 500,000. At this rate, Genesis could certainly sell 1 million vehicles within the next 3 years, and perhaps even faster, who knows?
