Nissan Introduces the 2024 Altima

25 August 2023 BY Jean-Sébastien Poudrier

SUVs continue to gain popularity every year to the point where one might wonder if traditional cars are simply outdated. In my opinion, that\'s not the case, and even though sales might not be there to prove it, I believe that the classic automobile still has its place in the market. Just take a look at the Nissan Altima, which arrives for 2024 even more stylish and better equipped.

The sedan from the Japanese manufacturer has everything it takes to please. It\'s elegant, packed with technology, and even offers all-wheel drive as standard. Its safety technologies are among the most effective in the market, and the quality of its interior finish is breathtaking. Nissan has gone all out, and that\'s why you should consider it.

Any innovations?

The Nissan Altima underwent a significant update in 2023, which is why the improvements are few and very subtle for 2024. The Japanese manufacturer\'s sedan now features LED headlights across all its versions. The manufacturer has also made some changes to the different option groups.

Cutting-edge technologies

For a car with a starting price around $34,000, let me tell you that the Nissan Altima offers quite a comprehensive standard equipment. Some versions of the Japanese sedan are equipped with a 12.3-inch screen that integrates wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity technologies. The sedan also benefits from a wireless charging pad.

The Japanese manufacturer\'s sedan is also one of the safest cars in its segment thanks to the ProPILOT safety technology suite. The Nissan Altima also comes with the standard Safety Shield 360, which includes systems like intelligent emergency braking, blind-spot warning, high beam assist, and many more. The Nissan Altima is also one of the few cars equipped with a system capable of detecting signs of fatigue and suggesting a break when needed.

A single engine option

The Nissan Altima is powered by a tried-and-true 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with a CVT transmission that sends power to all four wheels. A second engine option is also available on the American version, but it\'s unknown if it will be offered in Canada at the moment.

Prices and trim levels for the 2024 Canadian Altima have not been unveiled yet. However, if we rely on the American version, there will be only a very small price increase, which is excellent news.
